After a disappointing tour of Hyde Park, possibly the worst shopping centre with the most expensive parking…IN THE WORLD (R8 for 15mins), my (very) hung-over friend and I ended up at trusty old Rosebank in search of nourishment.
After considering the usual suspects: Wimpy, KFC, MacDonalds, Steers, Anat, we decided to ‘splash put’ and eat at Cranks, South Africa’s very own slice of South East Asia.
Owned by Eric Sangschloury, Cranks really has stood the test of time and has become a part of Joburgs culture.
Why: Relaxed ambience, quirky decorations, and fantastic Asian food.
Try: Tiger Beer, the spicy chicken wings (on the Vietnamese menu).
